Medical Community Awareness
The Israeli Wiskott Aldrich Syndrome Association is active in increasing awareness to the syndrome within the medical community, expanding and deepening related knowledge among Immunologists, hematologists and pediatric bone marrow transplant specialists.
To this end, the Israeli Association held its first conference in June 2012 at the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, attended by two world renowned WAS specialists. Prof. Adrian Trasher whose expertise includes gene therapy, and Prof. Lisa Filipovich a BMT for primary immunodeficiencies and post-BMT immune reconstruction specialist. Conference lectures are available on YouTube WAS channel.
The Israeli Association is planning another conference in 2014 which will focus on WAS research.
